THE HANDS THAT SHAPE OUR IDEAS

OUR TRUE HEROES

Our craftsmen and -women are the true stars of our business, shaping our ideas and bringing your design to life. Most of our furniture pieces are made-to-order and rigorously tested to meet European EN standards for safety, strength and durability in collaboration with The Danish Technological Institute.

Discover the crafting process, the precision, and the immense passion behind each piece, in the video.

    • LONGEVITY IS KEY

From the first sketches to the final product, every design is made to last – crafted from the finest and most durable materials. Our designers thoughtfully consider every detail, focusing on longevity. Each piece reflects our commitment to a future where thoughtful design, quality, and durability go hand in hand – shaping products that endure and enrich lives for years to come.

To extend the lifespan of our products even further, many of our designs feature changeable wear parts – allowing you to replace components over time instead of discarding the entire piece. We’re constantly exploring new ways to reduce waste and improve repairability and recyclability by making parts modular, replaceable, and easy to maintain.

While our team of designers live and work all around the globe, 88% of our designs are produced in Europe. By crafting our designs closer to where our customers live, we minimise the negative climate effects of transportation, waste and overproduction – as our furniture is made-to-order and we therefore don’t have big warehouses filled with dusty generic models. This gives you the freedom to customise our designs perfectly to your taste and needs.

We are collaborating with MÅLBAR and our suppliers to calculate the total estimated climate impact of our designs – from raw materials and production to end-of-life disposal. These insights allow you to view and compare the actual CO2eq emissions of some of our products. Importantly, they also inspire our suppliers to reassess their choice of materials, production methods, waste policies, energy consumption, and more.

By measuring the CO2eq emissions of our designs, we uncover the true impact behind every piece. Our goal is to make it easy for you to explore and compare the actual CO2eq emissions of most designs, enabling you to make informed choices. Currently, we have completed CO2eq calculations for 16 of our top 20 product families, providing you with a clear and transparent view of each product along with insights based on actual data.

The craftsmen and -women building your sofa and furniture are based in places like Italy, Poland, Croatia, and Estonia, as well as Denmark, our home country. Most of our designs are produced in Europe, but we also have skilled partners outside of Europe, who make some of our meticulously crafted accessories. For instance, all our rugs are made by hand in India – home to one of the world’s most exquisite traditional rug craftsmanship.

We have close, long-standing relationships with our partners. Together, we push the boundaries of craftsmanship, exploring new techniques and refining old methods. As we raise demands for compliance and quality, we evolve together, creating better designs every step of the way.

The map below shows where all furniture and accessories are created, and how many of our designs are produced in each country. Meet the manufacturer behind each design on every product page and explore all the production details.
