LUXURIOUS MATERIALS

NATURE IS OUR MUSE

Our carefully curated material choices are guided by a deep respect for nature, responsibility, and timeless quality. We believe that selecting the right materials is key to creating designs that not only look beautiful but also stand the test of time.

Inspired by Scandinavian seasons, natural textures, soft colours, and breathtaking landscapes, we carefully select each element to reflect this ambiance. Naturally, all our wood designs are FSC™-certified, fabrics and rugs OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified, and all leathers traceable.

From bouclé and pure wool to linen, velvet, and recycled textiles, every fabric in our collection is crafted with durability and the finest quality in mind all OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified.

Creating fabric is a complex process involving many steps. For every fabric and leather in our collection, you can find the CO2eq emissions and country of origin – tracing the journey throughout its entire life cycle, from where the fiber was grown, produced, or recycled, to where it was dyed, and finally to where it was woven into textiles.

Explore the map below to see where our fabrics are sourced. Find detailed info on each fabric as you browse through the collection.

EXPLORE FABRICS

In collaboration with the Danish company SPOOR, we offer luxurious, biodegradable, and traceable leathers, available in a range of elegant colours.

Inspired by nature’s constant evolution, we place organic materials like solid wood at the heart of our designs. Naturally, all wood designs in our collection are FSC™- certified.

Our designs are brought to life with the beauty of exclusive materials like marble and travertine. These breathtaking stones, formed over millions of years, offer unique composition and timeless appeal.

LET’S EXPLAIN

CO2EQ

Calculation of our designs

We aim to reduce our CO2eq emissions through Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and the evaluation of our production processes. In partnership with MÅLBAR, we measure the CO2eq emissions of our designs- including everything from raw materials and production to packaging, shipping, daily use, and eventual disposal after many years of use.

SOFAS SERIES

Changeable covers

Many of our sofa families – including outdoor models – are designed with changeable covers. This not only extends the life of your sofa, but also lets you adapt it to your space and style, generation after generation. Some covers are made for easy cleaning, washing, and refreshing over time.

DESIGNS IN WOOD

FSC™-certified

All our wood designs have been made from FSCTM-certified wood and other controlled materials since 2021. FSC™-certified wood comes from responsible, legal forestry that protects biodiversity. As the world’s leading certification for responsible forestry, FSC™ covers all three pillars of sustainability – social, economic, and environmental.

RUGS

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified

The testing is carried out by independent OEKO-TEX® institutes, assessing both regulated and non-regulated substances that may pose a risk to human health. Currently, 44% of our rugs are OEKOTEX® STANDARD 100 certified, and we are actively working towards certifying all of them.

HOME TEXTILES

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified

Our home textiles – including towels, bed linens, throws, dish towels, and aprons – are all OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified, ensuring they’re free from harmful substances.

FABRICS

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified

Our fabrics and Soft Collection are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. This means that the fabrics have been tested for harmful substances and are completely safe.

OUR TRUE HEROES

For all designs, you can learn about the wonderful people who create them – and we’re proud to share who they are, where they work, their inspiring stories and how they produce your BOLIA design. Their passion and craftsmanship bring each piece to life, connecting you with a story of dedication and creativity.

    • FABRIC UNCOVERED

Our goal is to be fully transparent across our supply chain by 2026, ensuring transparency down to every component used in the production of our designs. We already provide insights into the CO2eq emissions of all our fabrics, leathers, and some of our designs, allowing you to trace their environmental impact from raw materials to disposal, helping you make more informed choices.

The graphic shows the percentage of our supply chain for fabrics that we currently have visibility into, representing our progress towards full transparency. For us, the supply chain for cover fabrics is defined as:

    LET’S EXPLAIN

    LEVEL 0 PARTNERS

We work with experienced European partners to design and develop our fabrics. These partners assist us setting up the supply chain for the fabrics and ensure that all BOLIA requirements are fulfilled.

    LEVEL 1 WEAVING

In weaving, all the yarns come together to form the finished fabric. The weaving method and pattern are essential to creating the finished look and feel.

    LEVEL 2 SPINNING

Yarns are spun from fibres; these fibres can be either synthetic, such as polyester, or natural, such as wool and cotton. Knowing where the yarns are spun helps us track selected materials and address potential risks to both the environment and people.

    LEVEL 3 RAW MATERIALS

Where do the raw materials in the fibers come from? While we currently identify the countries where the cotton is grown and the sheep are bred, gaining transparency at this level allows us to actively promote responsibility, for instance, in raw material processing and animal welfare.

    CARE PRODUCTS FOR EVERY DESIGN

To help your furniture last even longer, we offer a range of care products, spare parts, and practical care guides to help maintain shape, comfort, and colour for years to come.
