Explore our materials

When we carefully select our materials, we are inspired by the nature that surrounds us. The seasons, the magnificent natural textures, the soft colours, the calming atmospheres, and the breathtaking landscapes. Explore all our materials below.

We love natural, living materials such as solid wood and veneer — which beautifully reflect our Scandinavian design heritage. Naturally, all the wood used in our designs is FSC™-certified. This means it is sourced from responsible forestry that ensures good working conditions for forest workers, and that biodiversity is maintained.

Bouclé, pure wool, linen, velvet, and textiles made from recycled materials are carefully selected. Each material is chosen not only for its beauty but also for its durability, ensuring your furniture remains as enduring as it is luxurious. All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified, and for every textile, we trace its entire journey — where the fiber was grown, how it was produced or recycled, and where it was dyed and woven.

Travertine is a unique natural stone with a beautiful, dreamy expression. Its tranquil patterns and colours bring a sense of calm and nature indoors, forming the framework for a light and sensual universe alongside wood and other natural materials. Combined with soft fabrics, warm wood, and natural leather, these elements create designs that are as beautiful as they are enduring.

Marble is a breathtakingly beautiful natural stone, formed in rock over millions of years. Depending on the unique composition of its place of origin, different types of marble emerge with distinct patterns and colours. No two pieces are alike — which is why every piece of marble furniture is entirely unique.

Veneer is made from very thin slices of wood, cut from tree trunks, and retaining the beautiful, natural properties of solid wood in a more uniform, thin, and stable shape, which also requires less raw material to produce.

Our leather by SPOOR is a chrome-free, biodegradable, and compostable premium Scandinavian leather. All hides are traceable all the way from Danish and Swedish farms to the manufacturer — sourced exclusively from local cattle and transformed into luxuriously soft leather at Denmark’s last remaining tannery, located on the island of Funen.

Our teak is 100% FSC™- certified and produced in Panama. The trees are planted exclusively on grassland, never at the expense of natural forest areas, and are cultivated with minimal use of pesticides. Undergrowth is manually cleared with machetes and turned into natural fertilizer to support tree growth and the area's biodiversity. This approach to plantation forestry results in both top-quality wood and a more balanced ecosystem. Forest workers are ensured good working and wage conditions and receive continuous training and education.

Crafted ceramics are both beautiful and durable, adding a unique touch to your interior. We offer dinnerware in both tactile stoneware and fine porcelain — each with distinct aesthetic qualities to suit any dinner table and home.

Glass is made from natural materials and is inherently durable and easy to maintain. Our range includes everything from tempered glass to mouth-blown crystal glass — each offering its own unique qualities.

Concrete has a calm and stylish appearance, reminiscent of the clean lines of modern architecture and raw industrial aesthetics. It is made from natural materials with unique and beautiful properties – consisting only of cement, sand, stone, and water.

Stainless steel is timeless, creating a sense of stringent simplicity and tranquility – making a striking impression that catches the eye, whether polished or brushed. Steel is a beautiful and durable material that will last for generations and is available with various finishes, all of which are easy to maintain.

Brass is an elegant metal with a warm, beautiful glow that adds subtle, magical flourishes to your interior design. We use brass-coated steel to achieve the same high strength as stainless steel, while retaining the warm character and expression of brass.

Laminate is a durable material offering many beautiful possibilities, featuring a soft and pleasant surface that is both flexible and resilient. We use only HPL laminate and FENIX NTM nanolaminate, created by the Italian company Arpa Industriale.

Our rugs are the perfect foundation for any interior, combining sophistication and natural beauty. Each rug is 100% handmade, crafted using traditional techniques and designed to stand the test of time. We only use the finest natural materials, including wool, jute, and recycled PET, paired with yarn specially developed for the unique BOLIA design. We carefully select our amfori BSCI-supported production partners to promote ethical practices throughout the manufacturing process. Every rug carries the Care & Fair label, and all are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified.

Down and feathers instantly create a luxurious feel in your design, elevating both the aesthetic and offering unmatched comfort that lasts for years. The exclusive filling provides inviting comfort and natural durability in your sofa, chair, or pouf. It also complies with Standard EN 12935, which requires that the material be processed under sanitary and hygienic conditions.

We love using natural elements in warm materials, such as classic French wicker and crafted, FSC™-certified paper cord, Danish Cord, which has been used to decorate iconic Scandinavian design classics for almost 100 years.

By using recycled materials, we save natural resources by reducing the need to extract new raw materials.

Wool is a warm and calming natural material that is naturally stretchy, resistant, and durable. And of course, our wool fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified. Wool is also 100% biodegradable, and its natural fibres are recyclable.

Invite nature inside with rugs and baskets made from handmade jute and seagrass — natural materials that are as beautiful as they are durable, and 100% biodegradable. Jute is a decorative material woven from the strong fibres of the jute plant. Seagrass consists of dried water plants that are sun-dried after harvesting and have long been used for various types of weaving.
