WE LOVE TRANSPARENCY AND WE’VE GOT LOTS TO SHARE
We’re committed to creating beautiful design through ethical practices and high standards of quality, worker safety, and environmental considerations, and continually working to improve our value chain. We’re on a mission to minimise waste, rethink packaging, and ensure our designs are repairable and recyclable. Introducing changeable covers to extend the lifetime of our sofas and making components replaceable is just one way we do this. We're proud to share all the exciting stories behind our designs.
Behind every single design there is a beautiful and creative mind. That is why we collaborate with a brilliant stable of world-renowned designers – from upcoming, vibrant talents to established design studios all with a shared passion for sustainable ideas and New Scandinavian Design.

MICHAEL H. NIELSEN, Denmark
My style is characterised by keeping the focus on the detail and "edge" that separates my designs from the crowd. One of my biggest influences is to register how much diversity there is among people and try to meet the very different needs that it creates.

THE 6 PRINCIPLES BEHIND OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
From the very first sketch to the final design, we are guided by six powerful principles: Repair, Reduce, Rethink, Recycle, Refuse, and Reuse. These 6 R's are not just guidelines - they are the foundation of every piece we design and create. By embracing these principles, we craft designs that are not only beautiful but also made to last. Each piece reflects our commitment to a future where thoughtful design, quality and durability go hand in hand, shaping products that endure and enrich lives for years to come.
At BOLIA, we combine natural materials with understated elegance to create lasting, harmonious pieces. From rich bouclé and traceable leather to FSC™-certified wood and unique natural stone, every element is selected for its beauty, durability, and authenticity. All fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, and we trace each material’s journey to ensure full transparency. The result is timeless design shaped by nature—meant to be lived with and loved for years to come.
THE HANDS THAT SHAPE OUR IDEAS
While our team of creative designers lives and work all around the globe, our furniture designs are produced by some of the finest craftsmen and -women in Europe. Our goal is to have transparency throughout our production chain so you can get to know about the skilled manufacturers behind every design in our collection. That is why we’re happy to share everything from our overall ambitions to the specific product climate footprint on our most popular designs, including everything from raw materials, to production, packaging and shipping and the product lifetime.
Every new collection starts with a creative brief for our designers, who brilliantly turn our design dreams into inspiring sketches, product ideas and prototypes. And most important of all, is the sustainable mindset behind each design, in terms of material choice, longevity, construction, component design and durability.
The finest design suggestions are selected, refined, and perfected – and the creation of the physical design begins. An inspiring process, done in close collaboration with the designer and carefully selected manufacturer. The creative phase, from our initial design brief to the reveal of the final new design takes around 18 months, and now it’s finally here – our NEW COLLECTION. A world of beautifully crafted designs in new colours, materials and shapes.
WE’RE CELEBRATING EVERY NEW TALENT
Since fresh talent fuels our future, we celebrate new and emerging designers at our annual BOLIA DESIGN AWARDS – a tradition close to our hearts for more than 19 years. Some designs have even been included in our collection, with royalty on sales to each talented designer.
